WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) released the following statement on the 12th anniversary of September 11th, 2001:
“Today, somber remembrances are being held across the country as we pause to reflect on the images from a tragic morning twelve years ago. Our nation will never forget that fateful day. As we honor the memory of those who perished, our country also has an opportunity through this National Day of Service and Remembrance to pay tribute to the heroes and victims and to move forward with resilience and hope. I encourage all Americans to take advantage of this opportunity.”
