MASON CITY – Mason City police responded to a fight in progress Sunday afternoon in Mason City and arrested two men.
Police were called to the 900 block of 9th Street NE at about 2:45 PM after residents in the area reported to police that a Mason City man, David Galindo, 47, “was there causing problems.”
Police stated that “some of the other people present were also arguing (and) fighting.”
A bystander told NorthIowaToday.com that the situation began to escalate and “Galindo then allegedly started fighting with Billy Foster,” 47, also of Mason City. Police stated that “Billy Foster and Dave Galindo were fighting in the front yard and street (of a residence at the 900 block of 9th Street NE) as police arrived.”
David Galindo was arrested and charged with Simple Assault (on one of the (female) residents who was present, not Foster), Criminal Trespassing, and Public Intoxication. Foster was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication. Both were jailed on the charges and released by Monday afternoon after posting $300.00 bond each.
