Two semi collisions on Iowa interstate highway prove deadly for Indiana motorcyclist

POWESHIEK COUNTY - An Indiana man traveling through Iowa on Interstate 80 on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle clipped the rear of a semi, was ejected, and then struck by another semi in the roadway.

POWESHIEK COUNTY – An Indiana man traveling through Iowa on Interstate 80 on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle clipped the rear of a semi, was ejected, and then struck by another semi in the roadway.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place Saturday, September 9, 2023. At 11:37 AM that day, 57-year-old Jon Gregory Bryan of West Terre Haute, Indiana, was operating his 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Interstate 80 at mile marker 197 in Poweshiek county. The Harley struck the rear of a 2023 Peterbuilt semi, and Bryan was ejected from the bike. Bryan was then struck by a 2023 KW semi while in the roadway.

As a result of the collisions, Bryan was killed.
