MASON CITY – Shortly after 3 pm Wednesday Mason City police responded to a call from the Department of Human Services requesting assistance from officers with an intoxicated male.
Officers arrived on scene and arrested, 53-year-old, Michael Lee Johnson for 1st degree Harassment for allegedly threating to commit a forcible felony against a DHS worker. Johnson was also charged with public intoxication.
Johnson was transported and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail at 5:57pm. Johnson was released a short time later after sobering up and posting a $2,000 bond. Johnson promised to appear at court for an initial appearance at a later time as part of his release.
In 2010 Johnson received a reduced conviction of 3rd degree burglary, a Class D felony, and a 5 years suspended prison sentence on an original charge of 2nd degree burglary. He was ordered to serve 3 years on probation, but records show Judge Foy discharged him from probation in 2011.
