vandalismMASON CITY – Mason City police are searching for clues after a number of people reported their tires were slashed this week.

An NIT reader reported that sometime Monday morning April 11, “several tires were slashed on the street side” between 4th Street SW and 6th Street SW on South Tyler Avenue.

Mason City police tell NIT that they took a call at 8:35 AM Monday morning about vandalism to a car in the 900 block of 6th Street SW. When the officer arrived, he found four vehicles with tires that had been punctured.

“We were able to determine that it had happened sometime after 9:30 PM on the previous evening. At this point in time, we don’t have any leads or information that has panned out,” Chief Jeff Brinkley said.

Chief Brinkley encourages all of residents to be on the look out for unusual or suspicious behavior.

“Please report suspicious activity when you see it by calling dispatch at 641-421-3000. When possible, park your vehicle under a street light at night to help deter theft or vandalism. Always lock your vehicle and your residence.”

  1. It this happened in Kuba under socialism as it exists in CCCubaa – you would have to go to a government store to get your auto part – Think I’m kidding – look it up – sometimes you have to wait a week to get a battery. Bernie bernie bernie – half baked – throw in with lieing ted or that scuz clinton = worthless.

  2. The city should set up some kind of a monetary award for anyone that turns in vandals like this. Somebody, not involved, knows this happened.
