Worth county auto crash claims life of Minnesota man

WORTH COUNTY – A Minnesota man was killed Sunday afternoon in Worth county when he lost control of his Cadillac CT6 and crashed into a bridge.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on Sunday, October 13, 2024. At 1:45 PM that day near the 208 mile marker of Interstate 35 in Worth county, 33-year-old Samuel Jospeh Poquette of New Ulm, Minnesota, was southbound near the 208 exit ramp. Poquette lost control of his 2017 Cadillac CT6, went into the median, through the cable barrier and struck a bridge pillar.

As a result of the accident, Poquette was killed and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Iowa State PAtrol was assisted by the Worth county sheriff, Kensett fire, Northwood fire and ambulance and the Worth county medical examiner.
