Olson inducted into RV Hall of Fame

FOREST CITY, IA, August 8, 2012 – Former Winnebago Industries Chairman Bob Olson was honored with induction into the RV/MH Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Indiana in a ceremony held on Monday, August 6, 2012.

Olson retired from Winnebago Industries on February 24, 2012, after serving the company for 43 years, most recently as Chairman of the Board.  He continues to serve on Winnebago Industries’ board of directors and the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association Executive Committee and as Co-Chair of the Go RVing Coalition.  Olson and his wife, Kathy, reside in Forest City and now have time to enjoy the RV lifestyle he has promoted for 43 years in their own motor home. “I am truly humbled by this special recognition,” said Olson.  “It has been a privilege to work at Winnebago Industries and to be involved with the recreation vehicle industry association. This is an honor I share with all the loyal and hardworking Winnebago Industries employees that allowed me to receive this special recognition.”

Olson is one of ten leaders inducted into the Hall of Fame for 2012.  These recreation vehicle and manufactured housing industry leaders have been inducted into the RV/MH Hall of Fame in recognition of their significant and lasting contributions to the greater good of their segment of the industries.  The RV/MH Hall of Fame and its related archival library of literature and photographs and its museum of historic vehicles is housed in a 85,000 square-foot facility along Interstate 80/90 in Elkhart, Indiana. Since its beginning in 1972, the Hall of Fame has honored over 350 leaders, including Winnebago Industries’ Founder John K. Hanson and former Chairman Bruce Hertzke.
