Op-ed: Sports a cesspool of perversion (by Peter Children)

Now the shit is hitting the fan; sports is again in the spotlight and not as a good thing.  Of late there seems to be quite a bit of that going on. Now it’s the Sandusky thing and the possibility of shutting down the Penn State football program altogether.  I vote yes, shut it down, it was a cesspool of sexual perversion for years; allowed to continue because of some perverse sense of values that locker rooms were sacred.  It’s time to drop the macho crap and look long and hard at the damage that was done to the many young men who were led by hand to one of the most demented sexual perpetrators you could imagine.

Organized sports are riddled with drugs on many levels, from small town colleges like the one here to the major stadiums across the country; it is part and parcel of the “sports program” to get on something that will enhance your ability to dazzle the crowd and get you name in some record book, while at the same time destroying your life.  If you want to play catch…go in the backyard.

The majority of you who go watch these games apparently do not realize the true consequences of being a participant.  Look what happened to those kids in Jerry Sandusky’s “Second Mile” program, it was a conduit used to supply victims….and the worst part was there were those who knew it.  That entire sports agenda should be closed and the university should be fined millions and still it wouldn’t be enough. What if it were your child; would that make you react?

Those who knew and abetted Sandusky are as guilty as he is; they drove the car while he robed the bank…no different, none whatsoever.  Paterno’s monument should come down and be melted with the proceeds going to some related cause to fight sexual abuse. Stop this madness, this is just some oblong shaped ball, it’s not the holy grail.

Speaking of NIACC does Derr want the taxpayers to flip the bill on new housing so her kid and the other NIACC drug traders can live in style.

Remember, this all starts at NIACC. Peter said so and he knows everything!

The only active cesspool of perversion is Obama and his administration.

Time for the separation of schools & sports. At the high school level, there should be community based, privately funded clubs… then the good athletes can go into professional sports – again, privately funded – including stadiums.

Your taxes just went up by doing that.

In this country we have trade schools where you can learn a crafe that will sustain you through life. Why not have a school that focuses only on sports. That would shift the drug problem off the campus and leave alone those who just want to learn.

sorry meant to say “craft”

Because they would take money from state colleges and that is quite impossible at this stage.

College sports are IMPORTANT! They make a LOT of money for the school and that is most important right? Oh wait, higher education. THAT’S why state colleges exist. Not to make money.
