…VERY STRONG WINDS ACROSS NORTHERN IOWA TODAY…

EMMET-KOSSUTH-WINNEBAGO-WORTH-PALO ALTO-HANCOCK-CERRO GORDO- INCLUDING THE CITIES OF… ESTHERVILLE… ALGONA… FOREST CITY… NORTHWOOD… EMMETSBURG… GARNER… MASON CITY

…WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON…

* TIMING…WINDS SPEEDS WILL REACH PEAK INTENSITY EARLY IN THE AFTERNOON…BEFORE SLACKENING IN THE MID TO LATE AFTERNOON.

* WINDS…SUSTAINED SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL BE FROM 25 TO 30 MPH THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON. GUSTS APPROACHING 45 MPH ARE ALSO EXPECTED DURING THIS TIME BEFORE GRADUALLY WEAKENING INTO THE LATE AFTERNOON.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WINDS OF 30 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT…ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
