Daryl Lee Kluender, 82, of Orchard, Iowa, passed away February 1, 2026 at his home in Orchard.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 am Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at St. John Lutheran Church, 1921 317th St, Osage. He will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford. Visitation will take place from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Monday, February 9, 2026 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapels, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City as well as one hour prior to the service at the church.

Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Daryl’s honor in the care of his family.

Daryl was born June 13, 1943 in Aurelia, Iowa, son of Vernon and Ann (Eggena) Kluender. He graduated from Osage High School and later earned his associates degree at NIACC. For many years Daryl worked as a farmer. Daryl was united in marriage to Linda Postal and they were blessed with two beautiful children. He joined Donna Eggena later in life and they were blessed with 18 years of love and companionship.

In his free time, Daryl embraced life with energy and passion. He loved riding his Harley at every opportunity, finding freedom and joy on the open road. Daryl played in many pool leagues and could often be found shooting pool at the Staff. He and his son Vernon enjoyed playing many games together. He took great pride in working on old cars, carefully restoring and maintaining them, and enjoyed showcasing his projects at car shows. An avid gun enthusiast, Daryl maintained an extensive collection and deeply appreciated the historical significance of each piece, reflecting his lifelong love of history. He remained active throughout his life, finding peace and fulfillment outdoors, and continued to enjoy going out to hunt when the season hit.

Those left to honor his memory are his children, Vernon Kluender and Katie (Nate) Wood; Lisa (Jeff) Iowa and her children; grandchildren, Keara and Alyssa Wood; mother of his children, Linda Hamilton; Donna’s children, Penny (Rick) Jindra, Barbara Peters, and Michael (Deena) Craig; Donna’s 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; nephew, Gary Kluender Jr; great-nephew Brett Kluender; and great-niece Arianna Krueger; as well as many friends and extended family.

Preceding him in death are his soul-mate, Donna Eggena; parents, Vernon and Ann; and brother, Gary Kluender Sr.
