Judy was born on June 2, 1939, in Charles City, Iowa, to Beryl Clayton Hansen and Dorothy Wilma (Ervay) Hansen. She grew up in Clear Lake and remained deeply proud of her roots. Judy often returned to her hometown to visit and reconnect with the people and places she loved.

She worked hard but also made time to enjoy life. Judy liked a cold beer or a margarita and was always up for socializing. She loved being a grandma and great-grandma. Driving around Clear Lake brought her joy. She also cared deeply for others, serving as a caregiver to both her father and her ex-husband. If someone needed help, Judy was there without hesitation.

Animals, especially her basset hounds, held a special place in her heart. She had a bold, outspoken personality that left a lasting impression. Judy enjoyed playing penny poker, cards, bingo, and visiting the casino now and then.
