CLEAR LAKE – A Mason City teen ended up in a hospital Tuesday after he lost control of his Chevy K1500 truck and tumbled into a ditch.

On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 5:37 AM, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office responded to 255th Street and Killdeer Avenue for a single vehicle rollover. The driver, Parker Thompson, age 19, of Mason City, Iowa, was traveling West on 255th Street when he lost control of his blue Chevrolet K1500 truck. The vehicle entered the North ditch, rolled several times, and came to an upright resting in the ditch facing Southbound. Thompson was treated at the scene for minor injury. Thompson was later transported to the hospital privately by a family member.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Clear Lake Police Department and Mason City Fire Department.
