Maynard H. Bochmann, 82, of Hampton, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery – Vilmar in rural Greene. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory of Hampton is caring for Maynard and his family.

Maynard Henry Bochmann was born in Waverly, son of Henry and Velma (Allan) Bochmann. He graduated from Allison High School. On June 9, 1972, Maynard was united in marriage to Deborah Grapp in Cedar Falls.

In his early years, Maynard was a farmer. He spent 27 years working for the Iowa DOT and he took great pride in his work. Maynard was an exceptional woodworker and was a collector of fishing gear, despite not being an avid fisherman. He enjoyed attending rummage sales and auctions with Deb and found joy in simple pleasures, such as sipping morning coffee with friends at Hardees and enjoying weekly popcorn rituals on Sunday nights, all while maintaining a fondness for classic cars.

Maynard is survived by his wife, Deb Bochmann of Hampton; daughter, Michelle (Mike) Studer of Waterloo; grandsons, Lance (Erica) Studer of Hampton and Logan (Katlin) Studer of Denver; great-grandchildren: Lane and Raelynn Studer of Hampton; Alice and Melanie Studer of Denver; brothers, Charles (Joyce) Bochmann of Clarksville and James (Sharon) Bochmann of Greene; along with nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Christi Kay Bochmann and great-grandson, Baylee Studer.
