MASON CITY – Vendors who were selling items from tents in Mason City’s Central Park during the Band Fest extravaganza say they suffered losses due to thefts.
Mason City police tell NIT that on May 28, 2017, around 10:50 AM, several vendors reported thefts from their tents in Central Park.
“Someone apparently stole merchandise from some of the tents overnight,” a police spokesman says. “Hats, dresses, rings, fidget spinners, sunglasses, swords, and t shirts were some of the items reported stolen.”
A police investigation into the thefts is now underway. Anyone with information regarding the thefts is encouraged to call the Mason City Police Department at 641-421-3636 or Crimestoppers.
I feel bad for the venders. Alot of bad comments on them also. I suppose it’s just a hobby for them. The theives were probably from in town. What about cameras in central park?

Went to the Plymouth, IA Memorial Day parade and then to the fire station for lunch. These junk dealers had their stand set up by the fire station taking up parking spots that the elderly would use instead of having to walk from the street.
Next thing you know they will be setting up at Memorial Park Cemetery for Duane Jewell’s funeral.

Bandfest brings out all the scruds, losers, minorities, and dirtbags within a 75 mile radius of Mason City. Something about free tootsie rolls and fried carney food. So yes, much like Prestage would have.
