INDEPENDENCE, IOWA – Law enforcement in this Northern Iowa county announced numerous recent arrests for week of December 22-28, 2024.
On Sunday, December 22, 2024 at approximately 11:05 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Brett Richard Waring, 43, of Lamont. Waring was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for an original charge of fifth degree Theft (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made in the 600 block of Concord Street in Lamont, Iowa. On Thursday, December 26, 2024 at approximately 10:25 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Brett Richard Waring, 43, of Lamont. Waring was charged with Eluding (serious misdemeanor) and cited for Windshield Requirements and Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance. This arrest was made after a Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Waring for a minor traffic violation in the 400 block Pine Street in Lamont.

On Monday, December 23, 2024 at approximately 3:20 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Sawyer Kevin Ray Pritchard, 23, of Dundee. Pritchard was arrested on active arrest warrants out of Buchanan County for Probation Violation and held at the Buchanan County Jail.

On Monday, December 23, 2024 at approximately 8:30 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Raymond Dwayne Draven III, 59, of Palo. Draven was charged with third or subsequent Possession of Controlled Substance (class D felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor) and Violation of Protection Order (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made following an incident near Water Street and Racine Avenue in Quasqueton. On Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at approximately 4:35 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Raymond Dwayne Draven III, 59, of Palo. Draven was charged with Violation of Protection Order (simple misdemeanor). This charge was filed following a previously reported incident in the 300 block S Third Street in Quasqueton.

On Friday, December 27, 2024 at approximately 1:40 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Timothy Aruther Ladeburg, 61, of Oelwein. Ladeburg was charged with Driving While License Suspended (simple misdemeanor) and cited for Surpassing Catch Limit for Fish. This arrest was made near W Hayes Street and N Main Street in Hazleton.

On Saturday, December 28, 2024 at approximately 9:45 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Thang Ding, 26, of Columbus Junction. Ding was charged with first degree Kidnapping (class A felony), Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon (class C felony), Felon in Possession of Firearm (class D felony), Trafficking Stolen Weapons (class D felony), Domestic Abuse Assault While Impeding Airflow (aggravated misdemeanor), second offense Domestic Abuse Assault (serious misdemeanor) and Violation of Protection Order (simple misdemeanor). Ding was also arrested on active arrest warrants out of Muscatine County for Failure to Appear and Jefferson County for Failure to Appear. This arrest was made following an incident in the 2900 block of Dugan Avenue.
