Sheila Mary Muller, 69, of Rockford, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital in Waterloo.
A visitation will be held 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N Hawkeye Ave, Nora Springs, Iowa.
The family will have a Private Graveside Service at Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd, Iowa.
Sheila Mary Nelson was born on May 19, 1955 to Leon and Madeline (Yarrow) Nelson in Rockwell, Iowa. A graduate of Rockwell High School’s Class of 1973. She trained and worked as a nurse aide off and on for several years. In her earlier years, she served as both an organist and Sunday school teacher at First Congregational Church in Rockwell, sharing her talents and faith with the community.
On April 11, 1975, Sheila married James “Jim” Muller in Rockwell, Iowa, and together they made a loving home near Rockford, Iowa, raising their family. Sheila helped Jim run the farm. Sheila adored her family above all, her greatest joy was found in a lively home filled with her children’s and grandchildren’s laughter. She was excited to bake all kinds of pies, never missed an event for her kids and grandkids, and carefully saved every newspaper clipping of their achievements.
Sheila and Jim eventually moved to an acreage outside of Rudd. Sheila also had a deep appreciation for nature. She tended to her flowers each year, enjoyed quiet mornings with coffee while watching wildlife from her porch, and loved going on fishing trips. A true fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Sheila rarely missed a game. She enjoyed reading from her bible and had a great love for the Lord.
Those left to cherish memories of Sheila are her husband of 49 years, Jim Muller; children, Brian (Liz) Muller, Eric(Marci) Muller, Andy (Amanda) Muller, Adam (Sheri) Muller, and Julie Muller; 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Lynette (Lynn) Martin, Carol (John) Cole, Jody (Tom) Kelly, Lisa Nelson; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Nelson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Bill Nelson.
