Sally Marie Papach, 68, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 Monday, January 8, 2024 at St. Joseph Church Epiphany Parish 302 5th St. SE, Mason City, 50401. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.

Sally was born April 2, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa, daughter of Jack and Mary (Kearney) Patterson. She graduated from high school there and earned her associates degree at DMACC. For many years, Sally worked at Principal Life Insurance. She later went on to work at Serta as a receptionist before her final career as a nurse’s aide. Sally then had to retire due to ongoing health concerns. She met Rex Papach through some mutual friends of theirs. They were united in marriage in Las Vegas November 20, 2000 and later married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manly, Iowa September 20, 2001.

Sally loved to fish in Clear Lake off of the family dock. She also enjoyed going for boat rides around the lake when she could. She and Rex especially enjoyed going to the Gulf Shores in Alabama during the winter.

Those left to cherish her are her husband, Rex; children, John (Shannon) Woods and Amy Patterson; step-son, David (Scottie) Papach; grandchildren, Megan, Abby, and Jacob; sister, Jackie (Dan) Holland; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Jack and Mary; and brother, Daniel Patterson.
