Iowa woman charged with murder of baby after emergency responders called to scene

WAUKEE - An Iowa woman is charged with felony murder after emergency responders went to a home to aid an unresponsive one-year-old child.

WAUKEE – An Iowa woman is charged with felony murder after emergency responders went to a home to aid an unresponsive one-year-old child.

The Waukee Police Department has made an arrest related to the death of a one-year-old child in Waukee on August 31, 2023. Yemissi N. Keto (pictured above), a 26-year-old female resident of Waukee, was taken into custody on the afternoon of Friday, September 15, 2023 on charges of Murder in the 1st Degree and Child Endangerment Resulting in a death.

Waukee Police Chief Chad McCluskey said, “this arrest is the culmination of an exhaustive investigation by the Waukee Police Department team. I am extremely proud of the work our officers do every day to bring cases to a successful resolution and keep our community safe.”

Chief McCluskey further extended gratitude to the Dallas County Attorney’s Office, the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Iowa, and the University of Iowa Police Department for their unwavering support and assistance throughout the investigation.

At approximately 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 31, 2023, members of the Waukee Police Department and the Waukee Fire Department responded to an address in the northwest quadrant of Waukee for an unknown problem. Crews arrived within minutes and found an unresponsive child at the residence. Sadly, the child was pronounced deceased on scene.

Police later said this incident occurred in the 200 block of NW Greenwood Place. A one-year-old child was pronounced deceased on scene after resuscitation efforts were unable to revive the child. The child has been transferred to the Office of the Iowa State Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

“The Waukee Police Department, in conjunction with the Waukee Fire Department and the City of Waukee, wishes to express our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends impacted by this tragic event,” police said. “Our dedicated first responders are also grappling with the emotional toll of their involvement in this incident.”

This is craziness!!! I’ve never seen sooo many babies/people die and or disappear in such a short period of time. This millennial generation is GOING to b the end of the world…come on people wake the fuck up..these r our BABIES!!! WE R HERE TO PROTECT THEM NOT BRUTALLY MURDER N TORCHER N RAPE N SELL THEM CAUSE UR TOO FUCKED UP IN THE HEADS TO KNOW ANY BETTER OR CARE! SAVE THE BABIES!!!!!!
