GILBERT – An Iowa woman was savagely attacked by a peeping tom knocking on her bedroom window when she went outside to confront the weirdo.
The Story County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning assault that took place in the 100 block of Thompson Avenue in Gilbert, Iowa.
The Sheriff’s Office received the call just before 5:00 AM on Saturday, June 8, 2024. The victim told authorities an unknown individual was knocking on her bedroom window for several minutes; she went outside to confront the individual and was attacked with a knife. The suspect was reported to be a heavier-set male and approximately 5’10”. He was wearing a red plaid ski mask and black shorts. The suspect left the scene on foot. The victim was treated at a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Further investigation in this case led to the arrest of a juvenile male from Gilbert, Iowa, with the following charges:
• Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
• Assault Causing Bodily Injury (Serious Misdemeanor)
• Harassment 1st Degree (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
