Scott Flory, City Administrator of Clear Lake
CLEAR LAKE – The City of Clear Lake is taking steps to address the Coronavirus outbreak, City Administrator Scott Flory said Monday morning in a public statement:

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

MARCH 16, 2020 10:00 AM

In response to worldwide developments surrounding the Coronavirus, including the President of the United States declaring a national emergency, the City of Clear Lake is taking steps to address the safety and well-being of its residents, visitors, and its own employees.
Although this may change as testing availability and frequency increases, according to the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health, there are no confirmed cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), in Cerro Gordo County, or any of the counties immediately contiguous to Cerro Gordo County. However, consistent with updated guidance put out by the Cerro Gordo County Department of Public Health regarding the rapidly evolving Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the City of Clear Lake is taking additional measures to help contain and mitigate its spread.

The City of Clear Lake is taking steps to keep its public facilities safe in response to coronavirus. As a precautionary measure, disinfectant protocols are being implemented at City Hall and other City-owned facilities to help protect health and safety of City employees and the general public. We likewise encourage Clear Lake residents and families to follow federal and state health guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus.

The City is taking proactive and precautionary measures at City Hall and city department facilities. To help stop the spread of germs, facilities staff has implemented enhanced cleaning procedures to disinfect bathrooms, door handles, counters, tables, and other areas to protect the public and our employees.

In an effort to maintain continuity of government, regularly scheduled City Council meetings, and other official board meetings with City representatives will still be held; however, we are reconfiguring the City Council chambers and other meeting venues (as necessary) to provide for more social distancing.

City Hall will remain open and accessible to the public. However, residents are asked to limit non-essential visits to City Hall. Residents and visitors are encouraged to utilize online bill pay options, sign up for automatic payments, and/or use the drop box located in the City Hall parking lot. City staff is also happy to help you over the phone with questions or service changes at 6413575267 or via e-mail (contact information available on the City’s web site).
Daily municipal operations remain unaffected at this time. Public notification will be provided of any changes to City services and operations. Updates will be published through the City’s official social media channels.

City officials will continue to monitor the status of coronavirus locally and will adhere to guidance issued from County, State, and Federal health officials, as it pertains to mass gatherings.

Scott L. Flory
City Administrator

And the world has turned. Close that coffee shop on Main. Close VFW. Close Rookies. Stay home. Ghost town. Walking around with many people out and about is very foolish. Including running and to a lesser extend biking. No more than two people should accompany a dog on a walk. Social isolation is key. Why you say? Because it’s bad.

Ya the people that want the money never pay any in anyways. If your going to give any money out which is a bad idea. Give it to the real tax payers and watch the cry babies who never pay in blow up.

What money are you talking about? In this article, there is no mention of it. You are pretty paranoid.

Mitt Rommey is on to something. Send every adult a $1000 stimulus check because of the virus! Like George W. did. They now have the money easily. How many adults in U.S.? 270 million? Who knows, who cares. Send the money! You now got $ 1,500,000,000,000 to spend. Do it. WE need it.

How long could you make that last?

the only visible outbreak Is panic driven by fear – perpetrated by privately owned main stream media, those you can’t ask questions too are the ones who control you, Question – does anyone know who owns the main stream media?

What you need to do is help the working people who right now largely make up the population in town. They will be struggling gravely with kids on the loose. Money is always tight for working class families. Screw impressing the money set tourist Scotty boy. Charlie Brown is not going to cut it. A parent needs to be home. Pay’em!

Agree

Take some of that money you got socked away and help the citizens. Good idea.

How they about give the $ back to the people they had no right taking it from in the first place. my view

Dreams do come true!
