Boosting Your Health In Light Of The WHO’s Health Announcement

The World Health Organisation has declared a global health emergency, after the death toll for Coronavirus has reached 213 people. The warning alert that is in place has been increased to the highest level, with people across the globe being urged not to travel to China.

In light of the spreading virus which has now spread across the globe to a number of countries, including the US, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Japan, South Korea, and the UK, people are being warned to take precautions to protect themselves against this growing threat.

The question is, of course, how can people protect themselves against the threat of this new Coronavirus epidemic?

Practice good hand hygiene

It’s essential that good hand hygiene practices are being followed, as this new virus spreads across the globe. WHO has urged people from all corners of the globe to ensure that they are practicing good hand hygiene. This means washing hands with hot water and antibacterial soap after using the bathroom, as well as cleansing hands properly after coughing or sneezing. It is also recommended that any coughs or sneezes should be done into the elbow of the arm, to help prevent the spread of germs.

Boost your immune system

When it comes to beating any virus, including the Coronavirus, boosting your immune system is the key. Taking a cocktail of vitamins and supplements can help to boost health and wellbeing, including boosting immunity. Take a look at the Chemist Direct website as there are a number of vitamins, supplements and immune support products available to purchase, which will help to increase natural immune system health. While having a healthy immune system can help to reduce risk, it’s important to note there is no guarantee that anyone will be protected from any one virus. However, taking supplements and vitamins for immune support may help to decrease risk.   Find out more about immune support products!

Be aware

It is vital that when it comes to protecting against this new strain of the virus that people remain aware. It has been requested by the WHO that people remain vigilant and aware of the virus and its symptoms, and that anyone who has symptoms that coincide with those of Coronovirus report them immediately to their doctor or another healthcare professional. It has been requested that anyone displaying symptoms should self-isolate themselves until they are able to get medical advice from a healthcare professional. It has also been suggested that anyone who has recently returned from China, should also self-isolate to reduce the risk of spreading the virus to others within their local community.

While the Coronavirus is a concerning threat, it’s important to remember that most countries have a strong healthcare system in place that is equipped to effectively deal with this kind of outbreak. It should also be noted that the virus has only proven deadly to two percent of the people so far infected, which suggests it is less dangerous than the previous Coronavirus outbreaks of SARS and MERS.
