FARGO, N.D. – The UNI Panther Track and Field team earned nine first place finishes at the Bison Team Cup Saturday in Fargo. The men and women finished second overall after earning 127 and 146.5 points respectively.
Once again, Patrice Watson led the Panther women with another first-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.86. Taylor Raines brought home two first-place finishes in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.77 and the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.86, tied for the third-best time in the MVC to date.
In the field events, Brooke Lorenz earned a second-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 5.31m. Sydney Durbin earned a fourth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.60m.
Jack Sumners earning a First-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.18. Tayshaun Cooper took first-place in the 60-meter dash with a season-best time of 6.92 and in the 200 meters with a time of 21.87, third best in the MVC this season. CJ May placed first in the mile with a time of 4:16.12 followed closely by teammate Seb Gearhart (4:16.44) both are now ranked in the top three in the MVC so far.
Darius King once again earned first-place in the shot put with a mark of 18.88m. Sumners earned a First-place finish in the long jump with a season-best mark of 7.21m. Cam Bauer took second place in the pole vault with a mark of 4.60m.
The Panthers will be back in action at home at the Jack Jennett Open in Cedar Falls, Iowa in the UNI-Dome on Jan 23-24.
