Women’s College Basketball: Iowa completes comeback to down rival Wisconsin 85-78; Meyer scores 22

MADISON, WI – Iowa’s senior point guard from Mason City, Mackenzie Meyer, helped Iowa complete a big comeback and beat Wisconsin Sunday night, 85-78.

The Hawkeyes (15-3, 6-1) have won 21 consecutive games over the Badgers, dating back to the 2006-07 season.

Three Hawkeyes scored in double figures, including senior Makenzie Meyer (22), senior Kathleen Doyle (21), and sophomore Monika Czinano (20).

Sophomore Monika Czinano led the Hawkeyes in the fourth quarter with 12 points, shooting 4-for-4 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free-throw line.

The Hawkeyes recorded a season-low 10 turnovers.

Up Next: Iowa hosts Ohio State at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Mediacom Court on Thurs., Jan. 23. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. (CT), and the game will be broadcast on BTN. Lisa Byington (play-by-play) and Brenda VanLengen (analyst) will have the call.
