MASON CITY – A former Mason City firefighter accused of sexual abuse of a teen has entered a guilty plea in the case and awaits sentencing.

Gendel Benjamin Ugale Bimbo, a 29-year-old former Mason City firefighter and paramedic, has entered a guilty plea to a charge of felony third-degree sexual abuse. Bimbo once turned in a “supplies & laundry” bill to the city worth $1,149.99.

Bimbo, how is free at this time, is represented by Mason City attorney Rich Piscopo. A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for January 21, 2020 at 10:00 AM.
