RURAL CLEAR LAKE – A Forest City man was injured in an auto accident Saturday after a teen driver failed to stop at an intersection.
On September 21, 2019, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries at 310th Street and Fir Ave. A 2003 Ford Expedition driven by 17-year-old Malea Tagge from Clear Lake failed to stop at the intersection and collided with a 2019 Chevy Traverse driven by 63-year-old Donald Reese from Forest City. The vehicles both rolled into the north ditch.
Reese was transported to Mercy One by Mason City Fire Medics with non-life threating injuries. Tagge was uninjured. Tagge was cited for failure to stop. All occupants were wearing seat belts.
An Iowa State Patrolman said after the accident, “This collision is a classic example of how distractions can lead to collisions and how seatbelts can save lives. This one could have been much worse! Please pay attention and buckle up!”
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Iowa State Patrol, Clear Lake Fire Department and Mason City Fire Medics.

Crappy design vehicles that tend to roll easily when a high rate of speed is involved. Lucky to be alive. What a ride that must of been. A shocker!
…not only did this driver not stop properly but it is obvious from the pictures that a high rate of speed was also happening at the time of the crash!
Let me guess, texting or vaping.
I know Don. He doesn’t vape and I am pretty sure he doesn’t text while driving either.
And you, are a dumbass!!!!
Tagge was the one at fault
this statement was just as dumb as allens. No facts, just speculation. Just like the president.
Read the article stupid. You must be a liberal.
