CHARLES CITY – A Chicago man is facing a second theft charge after his latest arrest in Charles City.
The Charles City Police Department executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 2100 block of Clark Street on Wednesday night, October 25, around 9 PM. They say they were searching for stolen property. The search warrant was in connection to multiple incidents which had been reported to the police department.
As a result of the search and investigation, 27-year-old Antoine Cooks of Chicago was arrested for fifth-degree theft that day. Police said at the time several additional charges are pending as the investigation continues. Cooks entered a not-guilty plea and awaits a December 6 non-jury trial.
Later, on November 13, another fifth-degree theft charge was brought against Cooks.
Cooks was also arrested by Charles City police on November 9 after a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Blunt Parkway. Cooks was charged with driving while suspended. He was soon guilty of the charge and ordered to pay $397.50 in fines and court fees.
