Council candidate Tom Thoma plans events to meet public

Tom Thoma

MASON CITY — Tom Thoma, candidate for the at-large seat on the Mason City Council, has scheduled a series of “Tailgate Town Halls” meet-and-greets in Mason City parks and two events at Mason City Hy-Vee stores.

“Since it’s physically challenging to do door knocking, I thought, ‘Why not take my campaign to neighborhoods where people can meet in a relaxed setting and discuss the issues?,” Thoma said. “Our parks are beautiful and provide a great setting for just such meetings.

“I hope people will see this as a way to contribute to an agenda to further growth in Mason City by identifying key points of need and interest that we can work together on while continuing the many good things happening. We all have a stake in our community and I’d like to hear some of your terrific ideas.”

“Look for my blue pickup with the signs on the side. And feel free to contact me any time at 920-412-6629 or at tcthoma21@gmail.com.”

“If you would like a yard sign, please contact me,” Mr. Thoma added.

The Tailgate Town Hall schedule:

Monday, Oct. 2, East Park near the band shell, 5:30-7.
Tuesday, Oct 3, West Park/Parkers Woods, 5:30-7.
Thursday, Oct. 5, Georgia Hanford Park near the shelter house, 5:30-7.
Monday, Oct. 9, Frederick Hanford Park near the shelter house, 5:30-7.

Tom will do a good job. We need someone like him in our council

Perhaps clarify does he work for the Globe or retired from Globe or use to work there.Someone answer.

Skipper will be using his super mind powers to control him.

Matt we got to stop this!!!

Oh no they got to you too! Darn lizard people!

Do you even know tom? I do-I’ve had the pleasure of knowing tom for the last decade or so. He is a very kind person and extremely giving of his time and talents. And despite your concerns over his media background-I know him to be an independent thinker and to be extremely community minded. I would encourage anyone who doesn’t know tom to stop by one of his tailgate events and give him a chance.

Well lizad people do like brauts and beer so the tailgate will do just fine!

You people in mason city are so screwed. Must have some attraction for anyone with a media connection. What’s next? skipper for mayor?

If this is true there better be a massive write in for Weaver!

If this is true who can blame him…everyone always says ya I voted for you but numbers don’t lie, people don’t vote…You want to keep assholes running your world ,dont Vote.Dummies. Now We Are More Screwed. Ill write This Again when we find out for sure if true.

THIS THOMA FELLOW IS NOTHING MORE THAN A CHEER LEADER FOR THE MASON CITY ELITISTS.

THOMA WHILE WORKING FOR THE GLOBE HAS HONED HIS SILVER TONGUE TO CONTINUE TO LEAD THIS COMMUNITY DOWN THE WRONG ROAD.

As a long time follower of Thoma at the Globe, it is easy to recognize his agenda. I will never vote for Thoma.

Your rant is a moot point.
Since Max Weaver dropped out of the race today, Thoma is the only one on the ballot for the at-large council position.
Thoma is in…unless someone were to organise a massive write in campaign.

You are right but that doesn’t change the fact that Thoma will NOT represent ALL the people. He will be yet another rah-rah-rah negative Chamber Maid constantly pushing projects like the current Renaissance garbage.

The working peopled in the cheap seats are screwed again.

He will never advocate for the little guy/gal. Watch him push for more “public private ventures” using tax dollars to fund them. It would be great if he would go there to SAVE the taxpayers money, but I don’t see that happening.

Ideas? That’s funny. Real sure he’s on Slippers committee. Ewwwww.
