Floyd woman who injured children in drunk driving accident to stand trial in June

CHARLES CITY – A Floyd woman claims she is not guilty after cruising with an open container of booze, crashing her car into a dumpster, and causing injury to children.

On March 8, 2017 at about 5:16 PM, the Charles City police department investigated an accident in the 2100 block of Clarkview Drive. Officers found a 2006 Chrysler van driven by 31-year-old Bobbi Quade of Floyd was driving south and lost control in the turn leaving the street. She proceeded to strike a dumpster and one legally parked 2002 Buick Park Avenue. Estimated damage to both vehicles was around $8,000.

Through the investigation, Quade was arrested for second-offense operating while intoxicated, open container, failure to maintain control, and two counts of child endangerment. Records show the charge is a felony for causing bodily injury.

Quade has entered a plea of not guilty. She will now face a jury trial on June 22 in Floyd county.

Quade was busted for drunk driving in Floyd county by Charles City police back in 2008.
