Three wanted subjects caught after Mason City house searched

MASON CITY – Three people – including a meth dealer on probation – were jailed after a Mason City house owned by a Charles City couple was raided by police Friday night.

Mason City police officers, assisted by Cerro Gordo deputies, served a search warrant on a residence at 737 2nd Street SE, owned by Thomas and Pamela Litterer of Charles City. As a result, three subjects were arrested for outstanding warrants.

Chief among those arrested was Matthew Stephen Lowe, age 25 of Northwood. He has been wanted since April 10, when he failed to appear at a court hearing in connection to an incident on January 22, 2017. At 2:01 AM that Sunday morning at the corner of 10th Street SW and Jefferson Avenue, a MCPD officer stopped two bicyclists for riding on the wrong side of the roadway, and one of the bicycles did not have a headlamp. After an investigation, one of the bike riders was identified as Lowe; his bike had no headlamp in operation. The bike that Lowe was peddling was a women’s Trek 820 bicycle that had been reported stolen in Mason City on July 26, 2016. The bicycle was valued at $400.00. As a result, Lowe was arrested on a charge of fourth-degree theft. He pled not guilty and was to appear for a plea hearing on April 10. His trial is set for April 25. Just says after his arrest for allegedly stealing a woman’s bike, he was sentenced to a suspended 10-year prison sentence for dealing meth in Cerro Gordo county. He was put on probation for 5 years and ordered to pay $866.00 in court costs and fees; his fine was suspended, too.

Also arrested was 52-year-old Bradley Martin Westendorf for failing to pay child support and Mikayla Jade Dodd on an outstanding drug charge.
