CHARLES CITY – A traffic accident Wednesday afternoon led to a minor injury and a citation for a New Hampton woman.
The accident happened Wednesday, April 19 at about 12:33 PM. Charles City police officers responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 18 and North Grand Avenue. Lacey Tudor, age 30 of Floyd was operating a 2003 Dodge van attempting to turn left onto North Grand Avenue after traveling east on Highway 18 and stopped for oncoming vehicles. At the same time, Ashley Shepard, age 25 of New Hampton was traveling behind the Tudor vehicle and failed to stop in time to avoid a collision.
As a result, police say there was a minor injury after the collision. Estimated damage to the Shepard vehicle was $800.00, but no damage to the Tudor vehicle. Shepard was cited for failure to maintain control.
