NIACC men fall to Iowa Lakes, 80-79

MASON CITY – The NIACC men’s basketball team dropped a 80-79 decision to Iowa Lakes in ICCAC action in the NIACC gym on Wednesday night.

Iowa Lakes trailed 35-33 at the half and outscored the Trojans 47-44 in the second 20 minutes.

Streeter McIlravy led the Lakers with 23 points and Tywon Bresslter Jr. scored 15 points.

NIACC was led by Matt Baker with 23 points and Tim Trousell scored 21 points to go along with 12 rebounds.

Baker was 7 of 10 from the field, including a 5 of 6 performance from 3-point range. He was also 4 of 4 from the free-throw line.

NIACC returns to action Saturday at Iowa Central.

Iowa Lakes – Tywon Bressler Jr. 15, Streeter McIlravy 23, Kyle Beisch 9, Mitchell Keller 7, Jaylon Tapplar 2, Alex Rogers 5, Joe Binyoti 7, Dennis Joiner 12. Totals – 27-58 20-34 80.

NIACC – Matt Baker 23, Nick Wurm 3, Brad Rathjen 5, Tim Trousell 21, Jason Gumm 2, Ben Moss 14, DeAndre Burnside 11. Totals – 26-63 79.
