DAVENPORT - An Iowa woman allegedly burst into a home and shot her victim, now facing attempted murder charge.

DAVENPORT – An Iowa woman allegedly burst into a home and shot her victim, now facing attempted murder charge.

On Saturday, March 11, 2023, at approximately 8:03 AM, Davenport Police responded to the 600 block of West 63rd Street in reference to reports of shots fired with a victim. Shalynda S. Montgomery, age 23, has been arrested in relation to the incident. Reportedly, she burst into a home and shot a woman multiple times with a 9mm gun.

Montgomery’s charges include:

• Attempted Murder
• Going Armed with Intent
• Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury

The injured individual, an adult female, was transported to a local hospital.

This incident remains under investigation, police say.
