Two hurt in auto accident near Mason City

RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – Two people were hurt in an auto accident near Mason City Sunday evening.

The accident happened Sunday evening, January 1, 2017 at about 4:4 PM. A white 1994 Ford Explorer being driven by 38-year-old James Raymond Ohlinger from Bode, Iowa, lost control and went into the ditch at 245th Street and Quail Avenue. He and his passenger, 37-year-old Lindsay Michele Douglas, also from Bode, were transported to the Mercy Emergency Room by Mason City Fire Medics. They were treated and released for minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.

Assisting the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was the Iowa State Patrol and the Mason City Fire Department.
