Clear Lake man to stand trial on two drunk driving charges in Mason City

MASON CITY – A Clear Lake man who was found passed out behind the wheel of a car parked in the middle of the road in a North End neighborhood will stand trial next month for two drunk driving and other charges.

Brody Alan Buck, age 20, was found Tuesday evening August 30 around 8:32 at the 1300 block of North Madison Avenue. Officers had been called due to a report of a subject parked in the middle of the road, passed out behind the wheel. Buck was arrested on multiple charges, including first-offense operating while intoxicated, illegal drug possession, open container of booze, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful consumption. He was taken to the county jail.

That arrest was the second time in just a few days that Buck had crossed paths with law enforcement in Mason City.

Police located a vehicle driven by Buck Monday night, August 22 at about 10:12 PM at Jefferson Avenue and 5th Street NW. They had responded to the area due to a traffic complaint. Buck was pulled over and an investigation led to his arrest on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence, illegal possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Records show Buck is set for a jury trial on December 20, along with a pre-trial conference (possible plea deal) on December 5.
