OSAGE – An Osage man remains in jail after a violent domestic episode last week which apparently included a clash with police.
Osage police were called to the 400 block of Maple Street on November 16 just before 6:00 PM. At the scene, they encountered 21-year-old William Dane Cooper of Osage. After an investigation, Cooper was charged with several crimes, including felony domestic abuse assault; assault while participating in a felony; two counts of interference with official acts; disorderly conduct; and assault on a police officer causing bodily injury.
A bloodied Cooper was taken to the Mitchell county jail and booked into custody, where he remains at this time. A no-cotnact order with the alleged victim was also set in place by a judge. Cooper has been appointed a public defender, who has requested a bond reduction from the $5,000 cash-only that is required for his release. He awaits a November 28 hearing.
