At least one hurt in serious car accident tonight in Mason City (photos)

MASON CITY – At least one person was hurt in a nasty two-car collision Tuesday night in Mason City.

The accident happened after 5 PM at the intersection of 15th Street and South Pierce Avenue, near Big Blue.

According to a person at the scene, an “elderly lady in a red KIA blew the stop sign and t-boned an old Monte Carlo”.

The person driving the Monte Carlo that was struck by the KIA was treated on scene for multiple scratches and chest contusion from seat belt. She had “glass all over her”.

The Monte Carlo appeared to be totaled. No names of the persons involved were immediately available. NIT will report more when information is available.

BET you 5/1 monte was at least 20 over the speedo limit.

That would be a good trick since 15th & Pierce is a 4 way stop.
