Iowa LGBT organization releases statement of shooting at Florida gay nightclub

DES MOINES — One Iowa, an Iowa LGBT organization, responded to the tragic shooting at Pulse, an LGBT nightclub in Orlando Florida, and said attack was result of not having “adequate gun laws”

One Iowa’s Executive Director Donna Red Wing released the following statement:

“Our hearts broke at the news of the massacre in Orlando. We send prayers and blessings to the Orlando friends, families and community.

We know that this kind of event can only happen when a group of people are believed to be ‘less than’, ‘different from’ and ‘the other.’ The rhetoric used against us, as LGBT people, fuels hatred and violence.

We also know that this carnage can only happen when we did not have adequate gun laws.

And so, Orlando was the perfect storm of hate violence and gun access. All of LGBT America mourns today. And all of LGBT America is more afraid than it was yesterday. The Culture Wars of hate and violence found its place in Orlando last night. It is not over.

Today as we celebrate Pride in Des Moines, we mourn our community’s loss.”

If Donna Red Wing thinks this massacre happened because we don’t have “adequate gun laws”, I disagree.

“If this Orlando Islamic terrorist doesn’t represent all Muslims….why does he represent all gun owners?”

Why do we group all people from Chicago together? I see that everyday on here.

You’d have to ask those that are doing that. As for “we” I’m not part of that group.

I’ll rephrase it. Why do people group everyone from Chicago together? I hope that makes it easier to understand.

Don’t you think they bring it on themselves with their actions? Of course they are not all bad but they let the ones that are run their lives and neighborhoods.

Your a smart person and I tend agree wit you!

“You’re” not a smart person and that explains the rest of “your” comment.

I hope this guy rots and burns in hell. He had no right to target and shoot anyone for any reason. Anyone who says that these people deserved to die because they were gay or are sinners really need to take a look at their own lives. No one of us is perfect. I’m not gay and I’m very religious and I believe that GOD will judge and not man. He hates the sin and not the sinner. God bless all those people and their families.

When Omar Mateen bought the weapons he used, he had already undergone a more rigorous background check than the typical firearms customer.

As the holder of a Class D security officer license from the state of Florida, he had submitted fingerprints and a photograph, passed criminal background and mental health screenings and submitted proof of 40 hours of professional training. As holder of a Class G gun permit, which allowed him to carry up to two concealed weapons, he underwent the same checks, as well as 28 hours of classroom and range training.

Not enough laws for you?

“The striking thing about what we think we know about this incident is that all of the so-called loopholes that people point to were not a part of this crime, not a part of this terrorist act. There was a background check. There was a further background check that allowed him to become an armed security guard. You have a U.S. citizen with no criminal record, a U.S. citizen with no prior mental health issues, who waited the three days and went through yet another background check at the point of purchase. So it does not appear that the typical legislative actions would have had an impact on this individual’s ability to purchase a firearm,”

tl;dr bite me

What an ass!

You are one sick & stupid bitch.
