MASON CITY – The alleged consumption of too much alcohol caused a Mason City man to go to jail once again.
On May 20 around 5:09 PM, officers were dispatched to 1414 North Federal Avenue to investigate a suspicious subject. At the scene, 34-year-old Jason Thomas Lawler was located and arrested for public intoxication. Lawler was taken to the county jail, where he remains held on bond as he awaits a May 27 court date.

At about 11 AM on the morning of August 31, 2014, Lawler was observed by a Mason City police officer urinating in a yard located at 518 North Penn. As the officer approached, Lawler made a dash for it, looking to escape, but was soon caught and arrested for public intoxication. He was ordered to pay $195.00 in fines and court fees, but records show he never made a payment.
In June of 2014, Lawler was charged with aggravated public intoxication after he and a woman called police to the sprawling wooded area near Lime Creek Nature Center and the cement plants. The pair told police they were lost, and when law enforcement arrived, it was determined they were intoxicated.
On May 18 of this year, Lawler pleaded guilty to third or subsequent offense public intoxication and criminal mischief. He was sentenced to 75 days in jail with a suspended fine.

This guy just detoxed and sat in jail for 3 months on his last drunk arrest. The night he was out, he was already called in for causing a problem. He’s not ready to get help.
Why do the courts keep letting these guys out? Is it so they can get out and drink, go to 5 east maybe jail. get sober for a month or so and repeat this over and over and over until they kill themselves or kill someone else or they finally end up in prison just to get straight. F**ken losers get more breaks just because they have drunken problem.
