Shoplifting sex offender sent to big house

MASON CITY – A convicted sex offender who was caught stealing at Walmart with his former girlfriend has been sentenced to prison.

Stephen Christopher Levandoski, age 32, and his former girlfriend, Donna Ciaffarafa, were each charged with third degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor, after police were called to the Mason City Walmart on September 21, 2014. They were detained by employees who said they had attempted to steal over $500.00 in merchandise.

Both later pleaded guilty, received suspended jail terms and were placed on probation. Levandoski was found guilty of violating his probation in this theft case on December 31, 2015. A suspended 2-year prison sentence was imposed by the judge. He’s now in the county jail awaiting transport to a state prison.

Levandoski was accused twice in 2015 of violating the state’s sex offender registry and was found guilty once and placed on further probation. He was charged again in October and court records show no outcome as of yet. Levandoski committed his sex offense in Illinois in 2006 against a female child victim.
