MASON CITY – Police caught up with a wanted Charles City woman accused of theft in Mason City.
Charles City police arrested 26-year-old Brienna Lynn Kerlin on October 27 at about 6:13 PM in the 500 block of 16th Avenue. She was wanted on a warrant out of Cerro Gordo county in connection to a fourth degree theft charge brought by Mason City police. Kerlin was taken to jail and soon pled guilty to fifth degree theft. She was sentenced to two days in jail and ordered to pay $532.35 in court costs and fees.
Kerlin’s legal woes are not over, however. She is still facing charges of fourth degree theft and child endangerment in Floyd county. Those charges were brought back in November of 2014. She finally entered a guilty plea and is awaiting sentencing on December 15.
