Mason City Ford to hold fundraiser for food bank

ford_mason_city_dealership_15th_SWMASON CITY – Mason City Ford and Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank are hosting a Drive 4 UR Community event to raise funds for the local food bank on Saturday, September 13. The day long event will be held at the dealer’s location at 215 15th street SW in Mason City.

“We are pleased to be able to do such an event through FORD Motor Corporation commented Don Oconnor, manager for Mason City Ford. We have done the Ford Drive 4Ur school program in the past and we are very happy that Ford is going to let us do this as an additional community fund raising event in Mason City. We will continue to do the school event.”  This is an additional event, not a replacement for the school event.

Anyone who attends gets an opportunity to test drive the latest Ford models plus Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank for every valid test drive completed.  “Ford has told me they will donate up to $6,000 to Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank,” added O Conner. Only one person per household will be able to participate in the test drive donation program.

“We hope to get a huge turnout. If we can get 300 people to do that test drive on Saturday, September 13 we can get that $6,000 check from Ford Motor Company,” exclaimed Linda Duvall, president of Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank.  “That would be a big help. At this time we have raised just over $191.000 of the $300,000 Step Up to the Plate capital campaign goal,” Duvall added.
