MASON CITY – A man with “uncompromising pro-life views” who vows to eradicate the “scourge” of abortion will headline a Dessert Reception at Music Man Square next month.
On Friday, November 6, 2015, the Caring Pregnancy Center of Mason City will host our annual Dessert Reception at Music Man Square. This year’s theme will be “Imago Dei: Undeniable”, a theme designed to turn attention to the undeniable fact that human life begins at conception, and we are indeed uniquely created “Imago Dei”, in the image of God. In addition to musical entertainment and inspiring stories from past clients, attendees of this year’s Dessert Reception will also hear from our very special guest speaker, Steve Deace.
Steve Deace is the President of the Board for Personhood Iowa, and is a nationally syndicated radio host who tells an inspiring, and very personal account of how he came to be so uncompromising in his pro-life views. Deace says people of the Christian faith have a responsibility in winning the issue, “We have to bring the church back to life. We believe the church has to be the cornerstone of any culture of life.” Deace continued, “We do this because we are the Imago Dei. We do bear the mark of our Creator. Love knows no greater man than this that a man would lay down his life for his friends. You see the same instinct in soldiers who will go to wars, and they will fight and lay down their lives and give freedoms to people who may use that freedom to denigrate their cause, insult their institutions, try to attack the integrity of their mission, and yet they will do that why? Because they bear the mark of their Creator.”
Deace says his message on November 6th will be winning. “How do we actually win? How do we not spend another 42 years having this debate, while 4,000 innocent children are slaughtered each and every single day? How do we actually end this scourge, this blight on our generation? How do we end it once and for all? That’s what I’m going to be focusing on.”
The Caring Pregnancy Center in Mason City is a Christ-centered ministry committed to sharing the gospel message, and upholding the sanctity of human life by demonstrating the love of Christ to women and men facing unplanned pregnancies and financial difficulties. In the past year, our ministry has been so blessed to be able to purchase and use an ultrasound machine, showing parents-to-be the life that awaits their love and their care, and we continue to be strengthened by our volunteers and staff who carry out our mission day-to-day.

Caring Pregnancy Center (CPC) is a local provider of services for women that choose to respect and accept the gift of life that God creates. CPC is a wonderful place, a real asset to Mason City and North Iowa. If the writer had half a brain and moral virtue he would see the good here.
