MASON CITY – A Mason City man seems lucky to be alive today after rolling his pickup truck on a rural highway and then taking a trip to jail on a drunk driving charge.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office said today that Saturday afternoon at about 2:48 PM, 29-year-old Nicholas Kockler of Mason City was northbound on highway 65 in his 2010 Chevy Silverado when he went onto the shoulder and rolled his vehicle through the median. The pickup truck came to rest on its top in the southbound lanes of Highway 65.
Kockler signed off with Mason City fire medics at the scene. He was arrested for first offense operating while intoxicated and taken to jail.
The accident remains under investigation.
There is a medium in that area- van horns to the winny bridge.
You are right. I had forgotten that. I stand corrected.
