CHARLES CITY – Police were called to a Charles City house after a domestic incident and arrested a North Iowa woman.
On April 9 at about 3:34 PM, Charles City police were called to the 1400 block of Gilbert Street to investigate a domestic incident. After officers arrives, it was determined that 42-year-old Toni Funte had committed an assault and was arrested. She was charged with domestic abuse assault causing injury and taken to the county jail.
Funte pleaded guilty in March in Chickasaw county district court to disorderly conduct – fighting or violent behavior. She was ordered to pay $147.75 in fines and court fees. She was also arrested on April 5, 2015, just after midnight after a traffic stop by Charles City police near the 400 block of B Street. She was charged with driving while barred, suspended license, failure to use headlamps and no insurance.
Funte is a convicted felon out of Cerro Gordo county. She was sent to prison in 2010 and served less than a year of a 5-year prison sentence in connection to a methamphetamine drug charge.
