MINNEAPOLIS – The Minneapolis Police Department arrested a second suspect in the double homicide that occurred April 8th on the 4500 block of Penn Avenue North.
Leland Ethridge, age 30, surrendered to Homicide Investigators Klund and Jensen, who worked with the family to facilitate the arrest yesterday afternoon. Ethridge’s mug photos are currently being restricted from release.
Two were killed in gunfire on April 8, 2015 in Minneapolis.
Shortly after 10:00 that morning, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department’s 4th Precinct responded to the area of the 4500 block of Penn Avenue North on a report of shots fired. An officer, in full uniform driving a marked squad, on his way to a supplementary job saw two adult males running from the general area. The officer attempted to engage them but they fled from him. The officer pursued the two males on foot, capturing one, while the second escaped. It is believed that these two males were involved in the shooting.
Other officers responded to the 4500 block of Penn Avenue North where they discovered the bodies of two adult males deceased in a vehicle. Officers and investigators canvassed the area and are following up on leads generated at the scene. This is not believed to be a random incident.
