DES MOINES – Kicking off an aggressive general election direct mail program, the AFL-CIO is dropping more than 1.3 million mail pieces through the end of this week in 15 battleground states, including Iowa. This initial round of mail to union households across Iowa highlights the labor-endorsed candidate in the race for Governor, Fred Hubbell. “He is the only one looking out for working families,” says the mailer. It underscores Hubbell’s commitment to working peoples’ issues like
defending the right to collectively negotiate a fair return on our work,
expanding health care, and protecting public education.

“Working people in Iowa are looking for real, tangible change, and Hubbell is going to deliver. He is a genuine ally who will fight to create an economy that works for everyone, not just the rich and powerful,” said Ken Sagar, President of the Iowa Federation of Labor AFL-CIO.

“Reynolds is disconnected from the needs of working men and women,” said Charlie Wishman, Secretary Treasurer of the Iowa Federation of Labor AFL-CIO. “We deserve an advocate like Hubbell, a proven leader who shares our values and will bring the voices of working people to Iowa.”

The mail pieces are just one part of the AFL-CIO’s campaign to elect Hubbell. Across the state, working people are talking to their neighbors and coworkers about the stakes in this election. They’re knocking on doors, making phone calls, and talking at worksites to make sure labor-endorsed candidates, like Hubbell, are elected this November.

  1. The mailer says vote for liberals as your union dues paid for this mailer. The union is worthless they had there way they would run shit right in the ground. A bunch of idiots working 20-30 hours per week getting paid for 40. It’s funny when they read this there all shaking their heads as there making there code pink posters at work.

  2. They need to just keep out of the race. The Governor is way hot and needs to stay in office so we as a state can say or Governor is hotter then yours.

  3. Thanks to Reynolds and Trump tax cuts , the company I work for gave all their employees FREE health insurance ! And we’re NON union .

    1. The Democrats’ rage over Kavanaugh and they talk about Kavanaugh’s demeanor during the hearing between Kavanaugh and Ford? As I said before, Democrats ALWAYS accuse others of what THEY are guilty of. Just listen to Schumer talk about the confirmation and what he says…he is talking about the Democrats’ disgusting behavior.

      1. I don’t think i would call it the democrats rage…..it is America’s rage and the ballet box next month will be our backlash.
