DAVENPORT – Police in Davenport are investigating the shooting death of a man early Sunday.
According to the Davenport Police Department, on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at approximately 4:07 AM, the Davenport Police Department was dispatched to the 1000 block of W. 6th Street in reference to an individual with a gunshot wound. Davenport Patrol Units along with EMS personnel responded and found a male who had sustained life threatening injuries. The individual was transported to Genesis East Hospital, and subsequently died as a result of the injuries. Detectives responded to the scene and are currently conducting an investigation into the events surrounding the incident.
An autopsy is being scheduled and the name of the victim will not be released pending notification of the family. Police are asking for any information from the public that might assist in the on-going investigation into this incident.
