Mason City woman who faced meth charges gets deferred judgement day after caught drunk driving for third time

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman who was due court to face sentencing in a meth case was caught drunk driving the day before.

Shawn Ranie Levenhagen, age 48, was charged with two counts of felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. More specifically, Levenhagen was charged with two violations of Iowa code 124.401(1)(c), which states: “a person who is eighteen years of age or older and who either directly or by extraction from natural substances, or independently by means of chemical processes, or both, unlawfully manufactures methamphetamine, its salts, isomers, or salts of its isomers in the presence of a minor.”

The incidents allegedly took place in November of 2013.

After a guilty plea in December, Levenhagen was set for sentencing February 2 at 9:30 AM.

However, just the day before that court appearance, Levenhagen was spotted driving near 4th Street SW and Federal Avenue just after 10 PM after a call was made about a possibly impaired driver in the area. Officers responded and made the traffic stop. Levenhagen was arrested on a charge of second offense operating while intoxicated and failure to maintain control of her vehicle. This is Levenahgen’s third drunk driving arrest. She was jailed and later released.

At her court appearance the next day, Levenhagen was given a deferred judgement on one count of delivery methamphetamine and the second charge was dismissed. She was placed on three years of probation and ordered to pay $678.00 in court costs and fees.

I thought meth made ya skinny?

No wonder she is so happy. She can do whatever she wants and get away with it.

Wow. Yet another shining example of our failing judicial system.

Same old story these assholes know they will get off with a slap on the wrist and a little speech about you have to remain good for at least a day or two or I will have to slap the other wrist. Now be on your way and stay out of trouble. What a waste of our cops time. What a waste of money for out county attorney and his helpers, and a huge waste of money and flesh to our no good judges.
