CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake man got a deferred judgment in a domestic abuse assault case but violated the court-imposed no-contact order and was sent to jail for 7 days.
Jason Reding, age 39, was found guilty on January 30 of violating a protection order between himself and his domestic abuse assault victim. He has been arrested by Clear Lake police after an incident on December 21, 2014. A no-contact order was set by a judge between Reding and his victim, but he violated the order the very next day. Reding had been charged with domestic abuse assault causing injury. He complicated his situation by skipping his arraignment in court, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He later entered a guilty plea to first offense domestic abuse assault and was given a deferred judgement and 10 hours of community service and a year of probation.
However, at his court appearance, he was found guilty of violating the no-contact order on December 22 and ordered to serve 7 days in the county jail, where he is at this time.
