The first arrested student was 18-year old Samuel Notz, who was apprehended in his room at Daum Hall. A smell of marijuana was reported to be coming from his room. Notz admitted to possessing a duffle bag with marijuana, and turned over a vaporizer and four prescription bottles of marijuana.
Officers also arrested 18-year old Benjamin Christensen in Stanley Hall later that night. Officers were not given permission to search his room, but were called back when Christensen presented a resident assistant with a baggie of marijuana.
Both students are charged with possession of a controlled substance, which carries a maximum sentence of one year in prison if convicted.
